Mid week fun with Chi Chi Memories

This week I'm using the challenge image that was released last month for my project...Little Fox:

For my card I decided to create a CAS card...trying to focus on the cute image only..  so I printed it and colored it with my Copic makers.  I then fussy cut the image out and mounted it to this piece of white cardstock that I had embossed. I then added the strip of cardstock the same as the brown under the foxes feet and the two epoxy dots to the edges.  Adding everything to this white card base.

Chi Chi Memories latest release

Time for another project using one of the cute new January release images from Chi Chi Memories.  This time I'm showcasing a project using the new release Cute Little Girl:

For this card I started by printing the image onto white cardstock.  It hen colored her with my Copic markers.  I then fussy cut the image out.  I then covered the card base with this wonderful pattern paper from My Minds Eye Cut & Paste - Flair collection.  I added the colored image using foam tape so she has some dimension.

Wednesday, Wednesday....

January brought about three new images from Chi Chi Memories for you to use in your crafting...

I am working with Happy Girl this week.  I printed her onto white cardstock.  I then colored her with my Copic markers.  I then fussy cut the image out.  I then covered my card base with these fun pattern papers; leaving a small amount of the blue showing to bring out the blue in her outfit and the ponytail holders.  I then added the happy birthday sticker to the front.  She is added using foam tape for some extra dimension.

Chi Chi Wednesday

So one of the cute images from the December release is titled Reindeer girl....I mean look how cute she is:

For my card I printed her onto white cardstock.  I then colored her with my Copic markers; matching the red with this wonderful pattern paper I had in my stash.  I then added her to my card.  I printed this great saying from the Winter Sports set and added it to my card front.

I just adore her and think she is sooo cute for holiday cards!!!

Moving on up

So...my girls both take karate lessons...and right now I have a blue belt and a purple belt in my house.  (along with my dh who is a yellow belt, but we won't talk about that....)  With the increase in belt ranks both girls needed to switch teachers (Sensei) and class times....neither were that happy about doing that.  Both girls had been lucky to have Sensei Diane as their first instructor and youngest wanted to give her a special thank you for all she has done for her.

What better image to use than the Karate girl from Chi Chi Memories for my project???

I colored her to look like my youngest; complete with the blue belt.  The fun background is made with this amazing washi tape that I had in my stash....I love that it has all the belt colors in it...perfect!!!

Youngest really likes her new instructor...he is quite funny when he is teaching and makes the kids laugh a lot.  Oldest is still deciding about her new teacher, but they both miss their first karate instructor a lot.

Mid week meanderings...

So here we are at Wednesday again...past the Halloween candy rush and now to make the rapid run towards the holidays.  This year it seemed they were taking down Halloween a week before the actual day and throwing up Christmas all over the place (wasn't that a fun play on words)...  seriously lets all slow down a bit and enjoy each and every day from now till the next holiday instead of rushing so much.

So to celebrate the slower pace I'm trying to keep to...here is my card this week for Chi Chi Memories.  There are three new release images that have come out and they are just adorable as usual...  This week I am using the Peek a boo 2 image:

I mean isn't she adorable!!!

I started by printing her onto white cardstock.  I decided that I wanted to have her hanging upside down from my card top, so I colored her with the shadows that way on the image.  I wanted to keep with a simple color combination so the focus was on the cute image, so I went with a pale blue and yellow.  She's colored with my Copic markers.  I added the cute sentiment sticker and the card was done.

Holiday Chi Chi greetings...

Today I'm sharing this cute card I made to get a jump on holiday card making using this darling girl from the Joyful Seasons stamp set.

I colored her with my Spectrum Noir colored pencils.  I then fussy cut the image out.  I then paper pieced the card base using scraps from my craft room.  I think she is soooo sweet and am so excited that I have another holiday card done!!!

Drippy wet Wednesday...

Well fall is here in the Pacific Northwest and that means the rainy season is upon us...drip, drip, drip...

It also means pumpkin carving....falling leaves...and of course Halloween costumes...

For my project this week I thought it would be fun to turn one of my favorite Chi Chi Memories characters into a ghoulish greeting....

I started with the Cheerful Girl (or Ghoul in this case) image:

I colored her with my Spectrum Noir colored pencils....isn't she ghoulishly fun!!!  The pattern paper is from my stash as is that little thought bubble which came off some of the oldest pattern paper in my craft room...the company isn't even around anymore...

Time again for another Chi Chi Memories Wednesday post!  This week I am showing you the cute new release image Delightful Day:

For my card I first printed her onto white cardstock and colored her with my Copics.  I then fussy cut the image out.  I used this wonderful paper from the Old World Paper Pad I won from Paper House Productions to add to my card front and popped the image up using foam tape; it really makes her look like she's jumping in this scene!  I added this wonderful rubon from my stash to the top to finish off the creation.

I just think this image is darling!!!

Mid week pondering....some Chi Chi fun and the door seen around the world...

So....Wednesday is fun day...lots going on all around typically and this week is no different...throw in the fact that it's my birthday too...and wahoo...let the fun keep on keeping on...

My card this week for Chi Chi Memories features this cute Cheerful Girl image:

For my card I first printed her onto white cardstock.  I then colored the image using my Copics...I am loving the tips I've been getting in the Kit and Clowder hair and skin class...I also signed up for the clothing class, so I'm working on pleats too...

I then trimmed the image and set out to make a cute card base using this wonderful paper from Simple Stories...I fussy cut the heart from the same paper line from one of the little journaling squares in the paper pad.  I think she is wonderful and "a famly is a patchwork stitched with love"!


Now...people in my neighborhood are probably used to our crazy porch decorations for the holidays....last year for Christmas I made the front door look like Santa...belt in the middle with buckle...his beard from the top (made with cotton balls)....  so this year I had to do something for Halloween that was super fun.  I picked up these wonderful HUGE googley eyes from Target a few weeks back when they first put things in the dollar spot section...  I came up the idea to make the door look like a mummy...and set about cutting strips of plotter paper...then used packing tape to create a kind of "frame" around the door...our door has this tight insulation trim around it, so getting things to stick to the sides is pretty much impossible...so getting a frame in place was critical...then I added the strips across the entire door...leaving the lock and handle out so we can get in.  I then trimmed back a section and added the red paper; and cut out a circle using a punch for the peep hole...otherwise I can't see out at all...it ended up being fine...kind of looks like a little mouth...  I then added the googley eyes.  I then took a large sharpie marker and outlined the bandages so they stand out more...

I've had more conversations with people I haven't seen in the neighborhood in the past two days since this went up...  fun stuff!

Last year I made a spiderweb using masking tape and hung up pom-pom spiders the girls made at a craft store a few years before:

and the year before it was a zombie looking thing....

Now I'll need to start thinking about what to do next year...the girls are trying to talk me into a spider or ghoul of some kind....I guess I've got lots of time to plan something totally fun...

Always on Wednesday

So there are a few things that always happen in my house on Wednesday....the girls school schedules are kind of wonky with youngest going in first and getting out first and oldest going much later and now getting out even later this year....and Chi Chi Memories posts each week...(also horseback riding every other Wednesday)....

This week I'm sharing with you a super cute card I made using the Casual Day image:

I started by printing the image onto watercolor paper.  She is then colored with my Copic markers.  I then fussy cut the image out.  I then added her to this cute pattern paper that I used on the card base.  I added the Hello rubon to finish the card.

So...because today is one of those Wednesday's...I'll be coloring while the girls are riding...I picked up a few adorable new digital images in the past few days...

Chi Chi Wednesday

It's time again to share with you another creation from the latest release at Chi Chi Memories.  This week I decided to work with the new Tinker Fairy image and well....isn't she cute...

I printed her out onto white cardstock; after I flipped the image in my software.  I colored her in with my Spectrum Noir colored pencils.  I then fussy cut her out.  I then decided that I needed to create a scene for her; so I pulled out all these super cute dies and went to town....

The inside of the card says "Make a Wish..."...

Drip, drip, drop...Caught In the Rain

This month's new release images from Chi Chi Memories features this adorable image titled Caught In The Rain

For my card I first printed the image onto white cardstock.  I then colored it using my Copics.  I then fussy cut the image out.  I then printed the sentiment onto white cardstock and then cut it out using the large stitched journaling tag.  I then added the blue cardstock that I also cut with the same tag shape and the top with a scalloped stitched boarder die.  I then cut the clouds and rain drops from the same blue cardstock.  I then added all the elements to my card front.

I think she is soooo cute and this card is perfect for the change in weather here in the Seattle area that is soon to happen!!!

Some Spectrum Noir coloring and Chi Chi Memories May Girl

The May Girl image is one of my favorites from Chi Chi Memories.  I love the flowers in her hair...this could be an image for a wedding card, birthday, or in this case a Just Because card...

I have been working with my Spectrum Noir colored pencils and practicing my blending... blending... blending...  While my girls were doing karate last week a friend's cute youngest daughter sat by me asking if I could color her to look like her...could she please have darker skin to look like her.  Well I took the challenge and colored this cutie to look like Angelina...(she LOVES it)  She picked out the pink and purple for her flowers and dress last week as well...and was so happy to see how it all came together.

The background was made using watercolor paper and some of my Ranger Distress stains that I have had for well...forever...  I dripped them onto my craft sheet and then pressed the paper into the drops.  I repeated the steps until I got the background I wanted.

Back to school with Chi Chi Memories

With school starting up soon I thought it would be fun this week to combine a few of the Chi Chi Memories girl images to create a card that celebrates friendships.  I decided to use the Bookworm, Hiphop Girl, and Hello Girl images for my project.

I printed the image onto white cardstock.  I then colored them with my Spectrum Noir colored pencils.  I then backed the image with black cardstock and mounted it onto my card base that was covered with this great pattern paper from We R Memory Keepers Feelin' Groovy line.  The sentiment sticker was also backed with black cardstock to finish the card.

Oh yeah it's Wednesday

We're winding down to the last 36 days of summer vacation for the kiddos...not that anyone (me) is counting...  Once school starts back up Wednesday's are our crazy day......the kid that starts school early on every other day starts after the younger one....and then gets out after her...and to make things more complicated this year they are adding 45 minutes of instruction time to the middle/high school days...and decided to add it to Wednesday...so our normal out time for those kids is now pushed back..  UGH!

So this week my card showcases my need for special handling on these days both from now till the start of school and then every Wednesday once school is in session.  I decided to work with the My Teddy image and color her with my Copics.  I then created this colorblocked background with scraps of cardstock left from other projects.  I then found this cute tab in my Project Life things; I think it's from Basic Grey.  I think this is the prefect reminder card to Handle each day with care...

Well....here's to four more Wednesday's before the crazy starts....

Wednesday...what...what???

What...Wednesday already???  Well that means time for another Chi Chi Memories project.  This week I decided to work with this cute image called Hello Girl 2:

I started by printing my image onto watercolor paper.  I then colored her with my Copics and added a bit of the Spectrum Noir pencils.  I then printed the image again twice onto these wonderful pattern papers from the Cottage Chic collection by Lilian Ellaboudy Designs.  Aren't these designs just delish!!!  I printed a few more and created the background for my card.  I completed my project with this wonderful flower and ticket from my stash.  I LOVE the rich colors and designs in this line of papers!!

So my obsession with paper piecing continues... I just LOVE how much it adds to projects; especially when the subject has clothing.....it really does open the world to a bunch of fun clothing options for all your digital images!!!
