Kitty back ride

January has come to an end and there were some cute new images released by Some Odd Girl.

I wanted to share with you this cutie titled Kitty Back Ride Tobie...I mean look how cute this image is:

and here is my bookmark I made using it:

I colored the image with Copic markers.  Then I fussy cut it out.  I then picked this scrap piece of denim from Canvas Corp and punched a hole in the center.  I then added a strip of burlap scrap for the tassle on the bookmark.  The image was added to the fabric using Beacon liquid glue.

He has already made his way across the hall to my youngest daughter's room...

January photo inspiration challenge at Some Odd Girl

Each month there is a fun community challenge at Some Odd Girl.  For January we are talking photo inspiration.  It cold be anything from the shape of something to the colors.  Just find something in a photograph and let it inspire you to create something using a Some Odd Girl image.

I love birds.  I found this beautiful image online and decided that I loved the colors and blurry background, so those are the elements I used from it to inspire my project:

For my project I used the Kiss a Prince Tia image.  She was printed onto white cardstock using Copics.  I then put little dots with the same marker colors around her to create a background.  I then trimmed around the image.  I used Distress Oxide inks to create the main card base background.  I found these super fun stencil brushes that are perfect for creating kind of a muted smudgy looking design which was exactly what I was looking for.  I then added the printed sentiment to the front.  All the elements added to the front are mounted using foam tape for dimension.

You have until the end of the month to load your image on the facebook page here in this album!!!

Brr....Tia is cold....

Today I’m sharing with you a project created using one of the newest digital releases…Brr Tia!!
I printed her out onto some Strathmore Colored Pencil paper.  I find this paper has a great texture for using Prismacolor pencils and it is easy to trim down and run through the printer.
I colored her with pencils trying to make her look as cold as I could; remembering where my face would get the most pink when I had been outside too long.  I then added some Wink of Stella glitter pen and some Marvy Snow Marker.  I then puffed the snow with my heat tool.  I then dug through my stash and found some old alphabet rubons and spelled out brrr….

Brrr......

Be sure to check the other new release images in the store!

The perfect background for Strolling Mae

So excited to share with you my first  post as a member of the Some Odd Girl Core Team!!!

I thought I would share with you a great way to stretch your pattern paper in your collection.  First I started out by coloring the adorable Strolling Mae image using my copic markers.  I kept each color pulled from my case so I could use them later in the project.  I then fussy cut the image and then used my black marker to color the edges of the image.  I then backed it onto white cardstock and fussy cut that image out again leaving a small white border around the entire image.

I then decided on my pattern paper.  I picked this great floral pattern that was done in simple black and white.

I then used the same colors from coloring my main image to color the pattern paper.  Creating the perfect match to my first colored image.

Once colored I backed the print onto my card base made from green cardstock.  I then adhered Mae to the card using foam tape.  I then added my sentiment that I had printed onto white cardstock and mounted with the same green as my card base.  I used this fun line tape to create the great black border along the card front.  I also added some silver marker to her pendant so it shines.

Be sure to check out all the amazing inspiration from the Some Odd Girl Core team on their blog.
