Not quite what it was meant for....

So...I've been trying to use my supplies in ways that they may not have been originally intended for...I find this a great way to get our of a "slump"...when my mojo has taken a mini-vacation and left me behind...

I got this cute calendar date stamp in the October I Am A Scrapaholic Addict kit...and thought I would see what I could do with it other than the obvious..stamp it on my layout and record the date...so I gathered together my supplies...wasn't sure whether I wanted to use Memento or Versafine ink....decided on the Versafine after all was said and done...

I stamped the image a bunch of times all over my cardstock that I was using for my card front...making sure to stamp off the page so the front was totally covered with the image...

I then stamped the image one more time on a scrap piece of the same color as my card base and cut it out. I also punched a scallop circle from darker cardstock to back my circle with.

I then used a red marker to circle random dates on the circles on the card front. I attached the stamped card front to my black card base. I wrote January and 2010 on the image, circled the 1 in red, and popped the whole thing up with foam tape....

I added the Happy Birthday that I had printed onto the same cardstock; edges inked and also popped up with foam tape...

now I'm all set for a birthday card that I need to mail in December....

I totally think this would be a fun stamp to use for Christmas cards too...circle the 25 on the stamped image and put "no peeking until"....or even tags for gifts....

I hope this inspires you to look at your supplies in a new way and find some unusual ways to use them....you never know what you may create....

Happy crafting....Lynda
