In loving memory

Bear

This beautiful dog came to our bus stop every morning and afternoon with Karen and her son Andy. Karen let the girls hold his leash, take his leash on and off, and generally just love this sweet gentle soul as if he were their own. Bear had a degenerative spinal disorder that he lost his battle with on Friday. It broke my heart to tell the girls what had happened...and they were so sweet at the bus stop this morning...hugging both Karen and Andy telling them how sorry they were and how much they missed him.
Karen had mentioned to me that she hardly had a good picture of Bear at all...so I took pictures of Karen, Andy, Lucy, and Bear during spring break in my back yard and on their front porch. I wanted them to have good photos to keep.
This photo above is one of my favorites from the shoot. I took the photos today and made a mini-album of them for Karen. The girls gave it to her at the bus stop this afternoon along with cards they had made for the family...including one the Little Miss drew pictures of all of them on...
So...this is my goodbye post to my bus stop friend. We miss you...and as the Princess said to you...we will always hold Bear in our hearts.

What a sweet thing to do for them! That's a really good pic. Having lost our dog recently, I know they will cherish those pics and the album.

How terribly sad! He looks like a lovely dog, it was so nice that you were able to take photos and make her an album. I'm sure that thoughtful gesture is helping to make things a tiny bit easier for them.
