Growing in Unity Day 4

ME!!!!!!

I can't believe it's day four already...the week is flying by.  So for today's project I decided to pull out one of my favorite Itty Bitty images and celebrate the final weeks of winter.  I love this stamp from Susan Weckesser...it's titled One of a Kind Winter:

For my card I first stamped the image onto white cardstock using Memento ink.  I then pulled out my Copics and chalk and colored in the image.  To mix these two mediums together you first color with your Copics, allowing the ink to fully dry.  Then you add the chalk in places where you would like shadows. The great think about chalk is that if you make a mistake you simply erase it and start over.  So if you make a shadow too dark or it goes outside the area you wanted, just pull out an eraser and correct it!

I then pulled out some Spellbinders dies and cut my shapes.  I then used some distressed stain to edge my cardstock pieces.  I ran the card base through my Grand Calibur machine with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug template to create the embossed background.

I hope you'll come back tomorrow as I share my final creation with you...and before you go...don't forget...  Unity is allowing me to give away TWO Itty Bitty images to one lucky commenter this week.  So be sure to come back each day and leave a comment to get you name in this drawing!

And don't miss out on my bonus giveaway:

While pulling out my images to create my projects this week I came across an extra Unity set that I had received as a prize...this set is titled Sentiments O'Simple.  To be eligible to win this kit from me you need to first be a follower of my blog and comments each day this week will be receiving this special set from me!!!  LOVE this set...so many great sentiments for every type of card or project you are working on:

I hope you've enjoyed todays project and look forward to sharing with you all week long creations made using the wonderful images available at Unity Stamp Company!!!

Happy crafting....Lynda

Darling card! That is one of my favorite Itty Bitty images too! Thanks for sharing how you use the chalks with the Copics for your coloring and shading. Love the embossed layer for a great texture too.

Your snowman card is adorable! Thanks for explaining how to use chalk with copics. I am fairly new to card making and do not have very many copics, they are a little intimidating to me. TFS God bless!!

I really like how you colored just the edge of the snowman to make it look like snow. Nice job.
