Welcome to our first KIKI ART Design Team Blog Hop... however, we'd like to call it a BLOG HOPSCOTCH! Our HOPSCOTCH will run during National Scrapbook day weekend; Thursday April 29 - Monday, May 3, 2010

This is a casual type of hop....we're looking to inspire you and educate you about some great organizations. You can start wherever you want, however, make sure to visit the blogs of our talented design team members. Also, please make sure to visit the Kiki Art blogs (English, French, and Spanish) to be eligible to win.

Each design team member was asked to select an organization that commits to helping others. Then, they created a project keeping in mind their organization and featuring Kiki Art products. Make sure to take note of each organization/good cause each DT member has selected.

When you hop from blog to blog, hopefully you will get inspired by all of the beautiful Kiki Art work. We also hope that you are inspired to do good by getting involved in an effort to create a better world through these organizations.

For your chance to win, you need to leave a comment on the Kiki Art blog letting us know which one(s) was/were your favorite blog(s) during our blog hop and what organization was displayed on that blog. (Don't limit yourself! You can choose as many blogs as you want!)

Any other ways I can win?
Many members of our design team have decided to give away a project that is related to the good cause they believe in. Leave a comment on their blog hop posts, and they will pick a random winner.

Welcome to my stop along the froggy trail... Today, I'd like to talk to you about the wonderful work done by the American Cancer Society.

The American Cancer Society was founded in 1913 as the American Society for the Control of Cancer (ASCC). This group was started by 15 well-known doctors and business leaders in New York City. The start of this group was a very important event in the history of public health.

This year my mother lost her battle with thyroid cancer, so I have a new awareness of what this disease can do. There are steps that each of you can take to reduce your chance of getting a cancer diagnosis.

The best advice is to reduce your cancer risk: lead a more healthy lifestyle and change bad habits. Get regular exercise, quit smoking, eat foods that help defend your body against cancer; and learn to effectively manage stress.

Most importanlty....see your physician for regular testing and health screenings.

As more information is being discovered about cancer more of us are becoming aware of what leads to cancer and are taking steps to prevent it by making lifestyle adjustment to better manage their health.

Early detection, diagnosis, and treatment have significantly improved the odds for those that are faced with cancer. In 1995, over 50% of cancer patients survived five years or more after diagnosis and treatment. The American Cancer Society estimates that an additional 25-30% of all cancer deaths could be prevented with earlier diagnosis and treatment.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. With more than two million volunteers nationwide, the American Cancer Society is one of the oldest and largest voluntary health agencies in the United States.

I hope you'll consider the American Cancer Society if you are considering making a donation to a worthy charity.
