Busy, busy, busy

What is it about this time of the year that we tend to overwhelm ourselves with projects....school volunteer time, yard work for the rainy season, and just thinking about the holiday to-do list makes me want to curl up in a ball....

One great thing about this is that my way to unwind is to create...and I've been so busy doing away from home that my time in my room has been done this past week with a certain amount of purpose to it....to really push my creativity to look at items beyond what they may have been meant for...

so...for my example lets start with this Cosmo Cricket spinner that I received with my I Am A Scrapaholic October kit...

okay...I said to myself...what can I do with this that can make it uniquely mine....so I started out by first cutting away the square edges to it so the spinner was round....oh my... then I mounted the spinner onto red cardstock so it really stood out...
the end result was this layout...where the circle spinner was exactly the element I needed for this pages about my favorite fire truck groupies and their big smiles:




so....are you busy, busy, busy....have you taken some time for yourself lately??? How can you use a supply you have in your room in a new way????
