Cards for Heroes Holiday Cards blog hop

I am so very thrilled to be participting in the mini blog hop with these other talented crafters in honor of the Cards for Heroes program. This amazing organization has sent over 170,000 cards to our military men and women in service to our country.

Being the wife of a now retired Naval officer I knew this was something I HAD to support. There is nothing better than a note or card from a loved one that is gone and knowing that my cards would be used to transfer that love across the miles has inspired me to create these cards for the holidays.

I decided for my cards that I was going to use this wonderful Cuttlebug snowflake die cut that I have. This particular diecut also has a matching embossing folder, so you can add extra details to your snowflake.

I first cut the snowflake from cardstock. I embossed a few of the snowflakes. I added a Kaiser rhinestone to the center of each snowflake to make them shine. I the cut a coordinating piece of cardstock for my card front and used another Cuttlebug embossing template to add the extra details to the card front. I added the rubon sentiment to a piece of what cardstock and added it to the front of the card. Each of these cards was created following the same steps, but with different colors.

I hope you will think about our service members that are working so hard to keep our country safe this upcoming holiday season. The Cards for Heroes program is looking for papercrafters of all varieties to create handmade cards. The deadline for holiday cards is November 1.

If you need an added incentive; the wonderful ladies over at Scrap Street are hosting a Cards for Heroes contest on their message board...you can find all the details here.

This mini blog hop is going to be awesome...I hope you'll stop by each participating blog and get some early holiday spirit. Your next stop along the way is Seongsook's blog

If you get lost along the way you can head over to this list to find your way:
