Anne at Paper Patch crafts send me a lovely goodie package full of fun things from the new DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies collection. You too can pick up some of these goodies from her store here: http://www.paperpatchcrafts.com/blandbu.html
The pattern paper is thicker than a lot of pattern paper; almost like a cardstock; which makes it perfect for making cards. The first card uses the Pink Argyle Cardstock as the base for the card. I trimmed it and folded it over to create the card base. I used some of the doodlebug sugar coated glitter to add some extra sparkle to the flower centers. I also added some American Crafts thickers for my title....adding a great brad from the collection as the dot for my letter "i".
The second card uses the Argyle and Foil Green Swirls patterns. I trimmed the Argyle to fit the front of the card; then cut out the swirl pattern and two butterflies from the Foil Green Swirl paper. I finished it off with a rubon.
The next card is made from the Argyle pattern paper. A single butterfly and flower were cut from the pattern and I used pop dots to add them to the front of the card with some dimension. I added a brad from the collection to the center of one of the flowers and a single piece of skinny white rick rack. That cute little "hey" is from Making Memories.
The next card is made from the Glitter Tiny flowers pattern paper. I used a piece of rick rack across the center of the card; placed three Primas along it with some cute flower flat backs in the center. The sticker title is from Me and My Big Ideas.
This card was super fun. The card is made from the Glitter Wild Butterflies pattern paper. I decided to make a shaped card and freehand cut this from the pattern paper using small scallop scissors. I then trimmed a blue card base to match the pattern I had cut. I used a glitter pen to outline more of the images on the pattern paper....it is so sparkly!!! I added a single brad from the collection to the center of one of the flowers. I added a rubon for the title.
This last card is made from the Glitter Wild Butterflies pattern paper. I used my Cricut and the Mini Monograms cartridge to create the scalloped base...cutting out two of them and adhering them together to form a card. I then pulled out my Cropadile to create the holes around the outside of the scallops to create this wonderful look. I cut the pattern paper into a circle the size of the center. I doodled around the inside circle with a simple swirl pattern using an American Crafts pink marker...then used a glitter marker to color the edge of the card and inside each of the punched holes. I then used my Around the Block Tape Writer created my title on the pink tape!
This is such fun paper to work with and just the perfect addition to your scrap collection for this time of year when the flowers are starting to bloom and you are dreaming of seeing those butterflies outside your window.
Be sure to tell Anne that you saw the samples on my blog!!
