I've been spending time each week working on organizing areas around the house. Finding a new home for things; whether it be inside our home or a the Good Will Donation center!
You wouldn't think thinning things out and creating some order would be stressful, but I somehow managed to organize myself out of the only pictures I have of myself as a child. I have a very small envelope of less than 20 photos of myself before I graduated from High School. This small pile is all I have in the world of those times in my life...I have nothing else, no cards or notes from friends; in fact I only have one childhood toy at all... When I left for college I knew I would not be going back and my lovely mother solidified my thought by throwing out everything that was mine that had been left behind in the attic...so all my yearbooks, notebooks, and other momentous are gone forever...
So...the fact that I had reorganized this tiny manila envelope to a new location that I could not remember sent me into a total tail spin... I spent over 3 hours last night just searching my space for those photos... I had to give up at 11 because of my sinus headache... back downstairs this morning I finally found them tucked within the other photos I have taken since I met my now dh.
Why was I searching for these in the first place...well I've been spending a lot of time thinking about what I want the girls to know about me...who I am, who I was, and who I will be kind of thing. I don't have many photos to include in a Book About Me, but I can certainly fill in the blanks with what I can remember. I may even have to ask my older sister to tell me what she remembers of things. This project has been one that I have sputter started a number of times in the past few years, but Sheila has me charged and ready to get to it this time...who's Sheila you are wondering...well she's my gf at Paper Popsicles and she is hosting their BAM challenges. The two of us joke about being sisters because many things about us are very similar...
If you haven't done a Book About Me...I hope you'll stop by and take a peek at the ideas that Sheila has proposed and think about doing one. If you have done one....maybe you can fill it out a bit with a new chapter or two inspired by her wonderful ideas. We have a section in the private gallery just for those that want to share their BAM pages.
So...here's the forum link: http://prelude.websitewelcome.com/~paperpop/forum/viewforum.php?f=29&sid=4ebbd22292e258a083f1726a273f2724
And in case you thought for a moment that the Earth has stopped spinning you'll be glad to know...that I successfully found the photos this morning...so the situation is under control!!! Sorry about that...it's been a while since I've let anything get me that worked up...

As you know, I totally relate! All of my childhood photos (a handful) came from my grandmother and are tucked away in a 7 x 7 album. Pretty sad that 18 years are in that small an album... Anyway, kudos to you for doing a BOM! I'm on my second volume, 12 x 12 even! :-)
I know the feeling - when I moved away to college my fathers new wife did the same thing with my yearbooks, etc. Thankfully you had enough photos to do your BOM.
