Okay for this one I decided I would do some research to see exactly how many holidays we have these days. So, I googled list of holidays. Up came a site that lists all the holidays of certain countries, so lets just look at the official list for the United States of America....

The United States federal government designates national holidays for federal employees only. State and local governments generally observe these holidays as well as many State Holidays. For a basic list of holidays as seen on a 2008 calendar:

First let me say that there are other dates not on list such as grandparents day, office assistants appreciation day, teacher appreciation day and that every popular Babysitter's day (which in case it is not on your calendar is May 10).

So, I then thought I would see how many other strange/weird/funny celebrations were out there...this lead me to this particular site that by month will list for you the "month of", "week of" and every other strange day that is just screaming to be heard with a celebrated cerimonial day on the calendar! So...my rant is not about a particular holiday specifically, but about the lack of a holiday being observed for a true purpose is my problem. If you think I'm being harsh...let me share a few that I found on the link above to prove my point:

Penguin Awareness day January 12 (man...I so messed up not celebrating that one)
Pooh (Winnie the) day January 18 today!!!
National Peanut Brittle day January 26
February is National Spunky Old Broads Month (yup...we have a whole month just for ourselves!)
the week of March 3-9 is National Procrastination Week...

Okay.....you get my point...this is nuts people.

I guess I'll have to wait until February for my true month to begin

...then do nothing since I can't really celebrate my procrastination until some time between March 3rd and 9th...

knowing me... I will wait until the 9th....and then forget!
